The Classic Preamplifier is a stereophonic preamplifier designed to offer maximum control over a hi-fi system and drive any power amplifier or active loudspeaker to the fullest. Simply add your sources and a pair of powered acoustic speakers or a power amplifier and a pair of passive speakers.
It accepts five high-level sources, such as DAC, CD player, tuner, recorder, and TV, two of which have balanced connections, plus a turntable. The turntable input accepts both MM and MC cartridges: with the latter, the input impedance can be finely adjusted to optimize interfacing with any cartridge model.
It drives a stereo power amp or a pair of mono power amps or a pair of acoustic speakers, and stereo headphones thanks to the dedicated internal amplifier. In addition, it has an input and output for an external signal processor or recorder.
It is equipped with an infrared remote control and a WiFi interface through which it can be controlled from any smartphone thanks to the free app provided by M2Tech in the Apple Store and Google Play.
The Classic Preamplifier is designed for music. Its discrete-component amplifier circuit is structured to accommodate the dynamic behavior of the music program. The balanced output is coupled through high-performance output transformers that make it effective and efficient in driving active speakers even with connections of significant length. This makes it possible to position the speakers away from the rest of the system.
The Classic Preamplifier is assembled with great care by hand in Italy, because at M2Tech we believe strongly in the added value of expert craftsmanship that gives quality to the product and dignity to the worker. It is made using only through-hole mounted components. They offer a greater variety of choices than surface-mount components. This allowed us to choose the most suitable components at the design stage according to sound and power handling, because we wanted to make a well-sounding and durable product-an investment for life.
The Classic Preamplifier is an ethical and environmentally friendly product. Its mechanical components are made in Italy while respecting European environmental regulations. Its power supply allows optimal use of the energy stored in it; its standby circuit consumes just over a tenth of a watt. In deference to the repairability index regulations recently issued by the European Union, the Classic Preamplifier uses only readily available and replaceable components in the unlikely event of a failure, guaranteeing long-term use.
