The Young MkIII is a digital-to-analog converter of the highest quality. It converts the digital signal from your digital sources into the analog format, which is the one accepted by amplifiers and speakers.
It is also much more than that: it has an output section with a built-in resistor network volume control and gain buffer that, together with the analog input with which the Young MkIII is also equipped, make it a true preamplifier capable of directly driving a power amplifier.
Whatever your needs or technical choices, the features and performance of the Young MkIII make it an ideal choice for fine Hi-Fi systems with immersive sound.
It has a full range of digital input connections, including a USB 2.0 port, through which you can connect any digital source to the Young MkIII. The analog input allows you to connect an analog source, such as the Nash Rev.b phono preamplifier, a tape recorder or a radio, to the Young MkIII.
Its balanced outputs, with supplied balanced/single-ended adapters, allow it to be connected to any amplifier. With the ability to provide up to 5 Vrms in single-ended and 10 Vrms in balanced, the Young MkIII can drive even low-sensitivity power amplifiers without problems.
It is equipped with an infrared remote control through which it can be controlled.
It is designed with great attention to the quality of signal transfer and with sound quality in mind first. Its USB interface is galvanically isolated from the computer’s USB bus. This prevents possible noise from the computer from affecting the sound quality. The output stages that transfer the signal from the conversion IC to the analog outputs make use of top-notch components: film capacitors, anti-inductive resistors, low noise opamps for audio use. The section that generates the fundamental clocks for conversion is made with ultra-low phase noise quartz oscillators fed by a dedicated regulator, which is also ultra-low noise.
The Young MkIII supports PCM format from 44.1 kHz to 768 kHz, with 16-bit to 32-bit resolution. It also supports DSD format from 64x to 512x in native and 64x to 256x in DoP.
It recognizes and decodes MQA© encoding on the USB input.
M2Tech has adopted MQA to support Master quality playback and streaming. MQA is an innovative encoding algorithm that captures the original Master sound quality; ”folds” the file into a smaller size for easy streaming or downloading; and authenticates the file when it is played on an MQA-enabled device.
M2Tech recognizes the sonic and technical advantages of MQA, so all M2Tech DAC products will include MQA in their format decoding pool.
