The other night, while listening to the Manunta Classic sound divine in all its details and nuances, many of which are not clearly discernible in listening with other amplifiers, I was reminded of an old article in Stereoplay magazine that came out in September 1975.
It reported the following statement with respect to high fidelity, as it was understood in the milieu of one of the most emblazoned brands of the time:
“For fidelity to music, Marantz redefines the true Hi Fi chain:
the one that starts from the composer and reaches your ear.”
and again:
“For you, at the other end of the chain, to lose ” a little ” of the work is to lose the essential.
Because, in high fidelity, either you are completely faithful, or you are not.”
That’s it.
Engineer Marco Manunta and his team have made that concept their own, producing a truly excellent product. Everything has been conceived and implemented with the ultimate goal in mind: full end-user satisfaction without leaving anything to chance.
Of course, times are changing. Electronics must be more and more compatible with the most modern ways of enjoying digital music, but always respecting tradition as precisely in the Classic, which in addition to line inputs also has a phono stage of remarkable quality and versatility. Not to mention the headphone listening: a real surprise like a dream within a dream.I think there is no need to add more because, especially in this case, listening is worth much more than talking.
