I purchased for the first time (after being pleasantly surprised by ‘listening) the Young MKIV DAC and its Van Der graaf MkII power supply.
I was struck by the openness of the music scene, which is definitely more pronounced than in other DACs, while still maintaining considerable depth and definition, thanks in part to the help of the VDG MkII, in which I noticed conferring considerable body in the low end and a nice, crystal-clear midrange; a truly attractive sound.
From here on I purchased with my eyes closed the EVO DDC 3.1, which I used to drastically improve the digital data of the pc, then at a later time I purchased the Tosh analog preamp, also accompanied by another VDG MKII.
At first I used the Young mkIV DAC preamp, then I used a tube preamp for a while (pleasant but noisy and unreliable), but of course when I put in a preamp like the Tosh, the sound improved tremendously.
With this preamplifier, the mid-treble stands out and the presence of the low end increases slightly, but with a very pronounced cleanliness of the latter (compared to the tube preamplifier) making it decidedly more realistic, plus I was impressed by how quiet it was (there is practically no difference in background noise between the preamp on and off).
Whenever I purchase an M2Tech product I am always surprised by the build and sound quality of their designs.
A fine example of Italian excellence!!!
